M. Yuthaya Surian is a highly experienced person specializing in Integrated Facilities Management. He has acquired vast experience in Project Management when he was attached to PROTON BHD from 1991-1996. He was involved in the development (from Prototype, P0 until Pre Mass) of various Proton models such as Proton Wira, Proton Iswara, Proton Perdana, Proton Satria and Proton Putra. He had played an important role in the achievement of deliverables of new models according to the mass production schedule.
In his next career, he was actively involved in the successful launch of the Hospital Support Service Privatization Project, which was implemented on 1st January 1997 by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. He was assigned to the Penang Region as the Regional Operations and Maintenance Manager to coordinate and implement the overall operations and maintenance of Hospital Support Services that includes Facility Engineering Management Services, Ground and Landscaping Management Services, Cleansing Management Services, Biomedical Engineering Management Services, Clinical Waste Management Services and Linen Laundry Management Services. In August 1998, he was transferred to the Sabah Region to lead similar operations there.
As a staff placed fully in charge of the 20 Government Hospitals in Sabah to provide support services, he had proven by showing continuous improvement on the services provided and earned due recognition in the organization. He had implemented successful Building Maintenance Management, Energy Conservation Program and Condition-Based Monitoring Program at the health care facility under his supervision.
During his service in Healthcare Facility Management, he had represented the Ministry of Health (Engineering Division) on Testing and Commissioning of newly constructed buildings, especially Kota Kinabatangan Hospital, Sandakan Polyclinics and Kitchen Complex at Penang General Hospital. He firmly believes that working together in partnership is a key to success for Hospital Support Service Privatization. Ownership commitment and excelling in customers expectation is his management approach on managing day-to-day operations and handling critical situations.
Since 1999, he has been leading TOTAL IFM S/B as Director of Operations, mainly involving in business development of its four core business activities i.e. Facility Management, Sustainable Energy Management Program (SEMP), ICT Project Management, and M & E Supply & Installation. Currently, the company employs more than 150 staffs and has 4 regional operation offices (Klang, Ipoh, Kuching & Kota Kinabalu). To broaden the scope of activities, Mr Yuthaya has embarked on Green Efficient Facility Management and Energy Efficient projects, especially training-cum- consultancy of Energy Efficient Implementation Action (EEIA) & SEMP for industries.
